American Anchors is an independent documentary project about people, institutions, and communities trying to steady the country by confronting real problems.
The project follows organizers, educators, builders, faith and community leaders, candidates, activists, and citizens working to preserve inherited values, rebuild trust, and respond to the pressures reshaping American life.
We publish observational films, long-form conversations, short documentary portraits, and field notes. Each story is organized through two maps: the issues being fought over and the anchors holding communities together.
